We call upon call upon the Chhattisgarh government to take strict action against such acts of violence encouraged by the police in Bastar.
We demand:(1) SRP Kalluri should be immediately dismissed from the post of Inspector General of Police (Bastar District).(2) The Chhattisgarh Government must institute an enquiry into the actions of SRP Kalluri in instigating and supporting violence against Adivasis in Bastar.(3) The Chhattisgarh Government must immediately institute an enquiry into the actions of SRP Kalluri in instigating and supporting violence against activists in Bastar.

The unabashed silencing of social activists and scholars in Chhattisgarh continues as reports emerged on Monday morning that Bela Bhatia, a research scholar who has been in the in the crosshairs of the Chhattisgarh administration for helping Adivasis register cases against police excesses, was threatened to leave her house or face the prospect of it being burned to the ground.
